The Salty has a location “coming soon” to Virginia Highlands, with plans to open at 1002 Virginia Avenue. There is still no word yet on their website as to when the spot might open.
Couple Amanda Pizarro and Andy Rodriguez launched The Salty Donut brand in 2014. The menu features flavors ranging from classic glazed to unique flavors like whipped lemon ricotta bomboloni and brown butter and salt.
“At The Salty, we believe in the transformative power of a really freakin’ good donut, baked goods and a perfectly crafted coffee,” the website states. “We strive to tell stories through our ever-changing menus of new flavors and weave ourselves into the fabric of the neighborhoods we’re in to create spaces for the community to gather and positively impact those around us. Simply put, we like to make people feel good.”
The Salty currently has three locations in Atlanta, including spots in Buckhead, Krog Street and West Midtown. There are also locations in Texas, North Carolina, Colorado, Florida and Tennessee. There are also locations on the way to Virginia and Washington, D.C.
