Crepe Therapy Cafe, a fast-casual concept founded by Aspen chef and restaurateur Mawa McQueen, is expanding to the Front Range. A new Boulder location will open at 2273 31st Street, according to Westword.
The concept was originally established in 2018 in Snowmass Village (known then as The Crêpe Shack) and later expanded to Aspen in May 2023. In 2025, McQueen rebranded the growing business as Crepe Therapy Cafe. Another Boulder location will come later this year, and a couple will debut in Denver in 2026.
Its menu features vegan, gluten-free, and buckwheat crepes, along with smoothies, espresso, organic teas, and pastries. The community is able to vote on what the signature crepe for the Boulder and Denver locations will be; Crepe Therapy Cafe is holding a social media contest, with the winning recipe creator earning a $500 gift card.
Born in the Ivory Coast and raised in Paris, McQueen grew up in a diverse community where the mixed cultures influenced her cooking style. She attended culinary school in France and emigrated to the United States in 2002. Her first venture, Mawa’s Kitchen, opened in Aspen in 2006 and has earned recognition from the Michelin Guide.
