A new Mexican cuisine spot with signature margaritas is coming to the city along Lake Erie.

Casa de Margaritas is set to open at 1140 S Monroe Street in October. In a recent article from The Monroe News, the restaurant is currently under construction. Owner Joyce Ramirez told What Now Detroit it will arrive in the city in the middle of the month.

The new restaurant is replacing Michigan Bar and Grill which closed in May. It had been open for 35 years, run by the owners of Pete’s Garage in the city. Now, this is the newest Mexican concept for Monroe, owned by the Ramirez family who run Blue Margarita in Woodhaven.

“Serving the best Tex Mex that Monroe has to offer,” says the description on their website.

The menu is large, with breakfast options, steak, street tacos, sandwiches, seafood and salads. Under the favorites section, the California burrito, chimichangas and carnitas are a few items that will be served. It also looks like tequila will be served along with the margs.

Casa de Margaritas will be just north of Lake Monroe, close to the Kroger on S Monroe Street. The business will keep the parking from Michigan Bar and Grill. More information can be found on their website.
