Whiskey and Wings Sports Bar & Grill, a new locally owned sports bar concept, is getting ready to open in Cave Creek at 34406 N Black Mountain Parkway.

The company’s debut location will move into the former home of Fat Willy’s, which was sold for just under $2.2 million on August 26, 2025, according to local realtor Mike Corcoran. Whiskey and Wings is led by Scottsdale residents Nick and Michaella Richmond, who tell What Now Phoenix that this concept is expected to open at the end of the month, on September 29. When it opens, guests can expect a casual sports bar environment with a focus on wings, whiskey, and game-day experiences.

This marks the third business to occupy the 7,400-square-foot space since 2007. Gallagher’s Sports Pub was the original tenant before closing in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fat Willy’s took over soon after but eventually closed, leaving the building available for purchase earlier this year.

The concept will occupy a high-visibility corner near the heart of Cave Creek, with ample indoor space and room for outdoor seating or entertainment. The building includes extensive dining capacity and a layout suited for sports viewing, live music, or private events.

Whiskey and Wings will aim to serve both locals and visitors with a menu focused on American bar fare, likely including wings, burgers, and whiskey-forward drinks, although a full menu has not yet been released.
