Nearly a year after signing a lease for an Adams Morgan storefront, one of the East Coast’s fastest growing bakery chains is making progress towards opening. Tatte-already a powerful presence in the DMV dining scene-is making marked progress on its next DC location, reports local media outlet PoPville.

Tatte will be moving into a storefront at 1835 Columbia Road, NW. Recent photos of the bakery show that it is in the thick of construction-progress is undeniably being made, however a reasonable amount of work still remains. While it seems improbable that the location will open before 2025 is out, it is likely it will be ready for guests in early 2026.

Tatte Bakery & Cafe served its first customers in Massachusetts in 2007. The chain has 46 locations with 18 of them based on the DMV. The eatery features a rotating menu alongside year-round options including croissants, cookies, cakes, and breads as well as savory selections like salads, soups, and sandwiches. Tatte has achieved great success thanks to its stated motto: “To Inspire, Care for, and Nurture life. Every Day.”
