It looks like Old Town Auburn will soon get a new spot to wine, dine, and linger late into the night.
Oakhouse is slated to open this fall on the top floor of 130 Maple St, taking over the former White House restaurant space. Just below, The Lounge—a speakeasy-style cocktail bar that debuted only a few weeks ago—will continue to serve guests in its moody, intimate space.
Oakhouse will offer a reservation-only steakhouse experience featuring house-aged cuts, seasonal California cuisine, and a carefully curated wine list. Meanwhile, the downstairs bar keeps the good times rolling with oysters, charcuterie, and handcrafted cocktails.
Local resident Margery Cook described the recently restored building on Facebook as one that “carries a rich history while offering modern design with timeless character and charm.”
Oakhouse is owned by Whitehouse Restaurant Group, with seasoned chef Chris Townsend overseeing the menus at both venues. The steakhouse is slated to open before the end of October 2025, and the restaurant is already hiring servers and bussers.
Once it debuts, Oakhouse will operate Wednesday through Saturday evenings from 5 to 9 p.m., while The Lounge operates Thursday through Saturday evenings from 4 to 10 p.m.
