Memphis foodies, take heed-something new is on the horizon from a restaurateur who knows her way around the industry. Kendall Cooper, the owner of Slice Midtown, has filed paperwork to open an as-of-yet unnamed restaurant in Arlington.
There is not yet a great deal of information available about the concept beyond Cooper’s involvement. Paperwork filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development pertaining to the 8765 Chaffee Road eatery provides a few relevant details about both the space and the work required.
The project description offers a glimpse of what the renovations will entail, saying: “We are putting in a new restaurant into an already built out space. The contractor is going to remove sheetrock from one wall to put in gas lines for ovens and is going to break floor in one space to lay pipes for plumbing and put on some drains into floor.”
The restaurant is set to occupy 920 square feet. Everything else remains to be seen. The plan review was submitted on September 9, suggesting the concept is still in the relatively early phases. What Now Memphis has reached out to Cooper and will update readers as information becomes available.
