The scent of traditionally prepared Lebanese coffee, the taste of authentic Beirut pastries, the promise of deliciously prepared flatbread…Sterling residents might not expect to find these things in their own backyard. The Iskander Restaurant Group is preparing to help locals defy expectations with its latest project, Caramella Cafe, a concept committed to bringing the flavors of Lebanon to the DMV.

Construction is actively underway on the 20921 Davenport Drive Suite 101 storefront. While this is an indicator of positive progress, there is still considerable work to be done, making it impossible to estimate an opening date.

Caramella Cafe will certainly be worth whatever wait is in store; the restaurant promises to bring delicious cuisine and a unique but welcoming atmosphere to the DMV. The website offers a glimpse of what’s in store, saying: “Guests will be welcomed by the aroma of freshly baked flatbreads, the sweetness of Lebanese pastries, and the warmth of coffee brewed to tradition — a space that is soulful, indulgent, and inviting.”
