New York-based Maman is looking to bring another cafe to the market. It has filed a service site plan at 523 Fenton Place in the Eastover neighborhood, with plans to renovate the space for a new restaurant.

Maman inked a lease at the Commonwealth development in Plaza Midwood earlier this year, marking the cafe’s first foray into North Carolina. That location is slated to open next year. A second location was announced recently as heading to Atherton Mill.

Benjamin Sormonte and Elisa Marshall launched the French-inspired cafe in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood in 2014. It now has more than 40 locations across seven states, Washington, D.C. and Canada.

Food offerings include coffee, tea, sandwiches, pastries, breakfast items and salads. Items that customers can expect to see include smashed avocado tartines, quiche, ham-and-cheese croissant sandwiches and pastries such as the “everything croissant.”

Maman aims to offer charming, unique spaces that fit the neighborhoods in which they reside. Common elements include Maman’s signature blue-and-white china, rustic touches like exposed brick and wooden tables.

Maman has been in expansion mode this year, growing in multiple markets, including its home city of New York.
