Maman has plans to open a new location at 3 West 18th Street in the Flatiron District later this spring. The new spot will act as the flagship location for Maman, spanning 7,000 square feet across two floors and featuring an expanded menu and cocktail bar, according to Eater NY.

Founders Benjamin Sormonte and Elisa Marshall launched Maman in SoHo in 2014. Inspired by the South of France, the cafe serves coffee, tea, sandwiches, salads, pastries and breakfast items. Menu items include smashed avocado tartine, quiche, a ham and cheese croissant sandwich and pastries such as the “everything croissant.”

“On any given day of the week, Maman welcomes sleepy new yorkers, local celebrities, moms-on-the-go, business partners and friends into one of our many locations,” the website states. “Greeted by the scent of culinary splendor that wafts through the space, our guests step into an experience that engages all of the senses: rustic décor at every turn, the aroma and comfort of cuisines inspired by family traditions and the highest quality ingredients.”

Maman has spread to markets across the U.S. and Canada, with more than 40 locations across New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida, Washington, D.C., Connecticut, New Jersey and Montreal. The strongest presence for the cafe is still in Maman’s home market of New York City.

What Now New York connected briefly with Sormonte in a phone call. However, he was not immediately available to provide further comment on the new location.
