NYC Loses Another Classic Eatery as Basa Pasta Closes
Basta Pasta, an authentic Italian restaurant in NYC, announced on Instagram that it will close after 35 years of serving the city.
Founded in 1990, Basta Pasta offered Italian cuisine with Japanese-inspired touches, creating a distinctive dining experience in New York City.

The restaurant’s official announcement on Instagram read, “Dear friends of Basta Pasta. It is hard to believe the time has come to share such difficult news. While saying goodbye to our 17th Street home is bittersweet, this is not the end. The spirit of Basta Pasta will live on, and we are already dreaming of what comes next in a new era. Thank you all for your unwavering support. This is not a final farewell, but the beginning of a new chapter.”
