Em Coffee, a Vietnamese-American coffee house concept known for its phin-drip brews and signature cream-topped drinks, is getting ready to open a new location in San Diego at 1640 Camino Del Rio N.

The company’s third location is set to move into a space in Mission Valley, according to recent documentation submitted to the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality. While an official opening date has not been announced, this upcoming site follows the company’s debut in Mira Mesa and its second store at the redeveloped Zion Market in Kearny Mesa, expected to open in Winter 2025.

Customers can expect Em Coffee’s full menu of Vietnamese iced coffee, espresso drinks, specialty teas, and light food offerings. Founded by husband-and-wife team Nick and Li Truong, Em Coffee launched its first shop in November 2024. The concept reflects the Truongs’ passion for Vietnam’s rich coffee culture, which they felt was underrepresented in San Diego.

Em Coffee’s menu showcases a blend of tradition and creativity, featuring Arabica and Robusta beans sourced from Vietnam’s Central Highlands, complemented by modern twists and distinctive flavor profiles. Each location offers an experience that aims to bring Vietnamese café culture to local communities, emphasizing both quality and connection.

From the custom phin-brew methods to unique cream-topped drinks like the Em White Trufflemisu and CocoUbe, the brand continues to grow its footprint while maintaining its mission: to be a hub for gathering and cultural appreciation.

The Mission Valley shop will feature the brand’s full beverage menu, including espresso-based drinks, matcha lattes, and specialty offerings such as the Tropical Tonic Coffee and Super Coconut Coffee Blast. Light fare such as pastries and Vietnamese-style waffles will also be available.
