After more than a century on Columbus’ East Side, Resch’s Bakery is preparing for a new chapter. The beloved family-owned bakery will close its longtime East Livingston Avenue shop and reopen at 150 N. Hamilton Road in Gahanna.

Founded in 1912, Resch’s has been a destination for generations of Central Ohioans, known for its scratch-made doughnuts, buttercream cakes, cookies, and holiday specialties. For many families, birthdays, weddings, and weekend mornings wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Resch’s.

The move to Gahanna marks both an ending and a new beginning. While longtime patrons may feel nostalgic about saying goodbye to the original South Side storefront, the relocation ensures the bakery can continue serving the community in a modernized space with easier access for customers in Gahanna and surrounding suburbs.

Resch’s has not announced an exact timeline for the closure of the Livingston Avenue shop or the grand opening of the Hamilton Road location, but signage is already in place at the new site.

Though the address will change, fans can expect the same tried-and-true recipes and family-centered service that have defined Resch’s for more than 100 years. The bakery’s relocation underscores its enduring role in Columbus food culture—adapting to new times while preserving the traditions that keep customers coming back.
