Downtown Westminster is getting a new addition that’s tailor-made for both beer lovers and dog owners. Kokopelli Social Bar will come from Kokopelli Beer Co., and be a shipping container bar next to the dog park at 90th Avenue and Fenton Street, according to realtor Venus Howard.

The cool new concept will allow visitors to enjoy craft beers while their dogs play in the big open space. It’s part of Westminster’s long-term redevelopment of the former Westminster Mall site, a 105-acre property that the city has been revitalizing, the Denver Gazette reports.

Kokopelli Beer Co. is acclaimed locally as the state’s first woman-owned brewpub. Christine Wares started the business, and later on, her husband Rick joined in. The flagship bar is located at 8931 Harlan Street. It has 30 taps, most of which are brewed in-house, and serves cuisine like hand-tossed pizzas, artisan sandwiches, and salads.

The Kokopelli Social Bar is slated to open sometime this fall. The dog park it borders is just a temporary site while the city builds a larger official one, which will open next year. It’s not sure if the bar will also move when that takes place.
