Elk Camp Restaurant is preparing for a major expansion as part of Aspen Skiing Company’s $80 million infrastructure investment, the Aspen Times reports. The mountain-top eatery is located at 69 Carriage Way in Snowmass Village.
Back in May, Snowmass Town Council approved a 1,898-square-foot deck addition to the restaurant, which will add 120 new seats on the east side of the restaurant. The expansion faces the Elk Camp Chair and will have climate control systems in place.
Construction began after the Elk Camp Gondola closed for upgrades in August, and work is expected to be completed in time for the 2025/26 ski season, but nothing has been confirmed. The facility may hire two more staff members to accommodate the increase in occupancy.
This expansion at the restaurant coincides with a series of major upgrades across Snowmass Mountain, as covered by Freeskier. Ullrhof Restaurant is currently closed for a remodel and will reopen for the 2026/27 winter season. In addition, the Elk Camp Chairlift is being upgraded to a high-speed six-seater, and the Cirque platter lift will be replaced with a new T-bar lift.
