Copper Kitchen Pizzeria, located at 307 Gregory Street in Black Hawk, is gearing up to bring a new food option to the little casino city. Recent liquor licensing records show the company has received its proper permitting to sell alcohol, a big step towards opening.

The new pizzeria, designed by PEH Architects, will occupy a 2,808-square-foot building in the city’s History Appreciation and Recreation Destination (HARD) District. Dine-in patrons can enjoy a cozy interior with a bar, a stage for live music, and an event deck with outdoor seating.

A peek at the menu for Copper Kitchen Pizzeria shows specialty and veggie pizzas, along with wings, salads, sandwiches, and appetizers. Bruce Boynton, owner of Idaho Springs’ Pick Axe Pizza, is a partner in the venture through Hard Luck Black Hawk LLC, according to the city.

Posts from the business state that its opening has been pushed back, but that it will do a soft opening phase with a limited menu and hours at first. Initial operating hours are expected to be Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
