Gaucho Grill, the Argentine steakhouse brand backed by Unique Concepts, is doing some renovations at its Buena Park restaurant, county records reveal. Plans have been filed showing an intent to make changes at the property, 5980 Orangethorpe Ave, but specifics haven’t been disclosed.
The project is currently moving through the Orange County Health Care Agency’s review process. Plans were submitted in August, but the county marked the initial submission as “unable to approve plans” and revised documents were resubmitted on September 24.
This Buena Park outpost, an 11,500-square-foot eatery that opened in 2020, is one of five in the brand’s portfolio, along with Downey, West Covina, Pasadena, and Long Beach. It serves a wide selection of grilled meats, empanadas, chimichurri prawns, gnocchi bolognese, paella, and shareable plates. Diners can pair meals with house cocktails like sangria, mojitos, or a smoked old-fashioned.
Founded in 2014 by Adrian Amosa and Kirk Cartozian, Gaucho Grill comes from the hospitality group Unique Concepts. The company’s website explains that it operates several other sister brands, including Gaucho Empanadas, Gaucho Mercado, Gaucho Beach, and Gaucho Cafe. It also owns Avenue Pizzeria, Mandala Bar, Beso Discotheque, Alegria, and Agaves Kitchen & Tequila Bar.
