After 20 years of serving Gaithersburg foodies, a local restaurant is preparing to charm (and feed) a whole new set of hungry diners. Dogfish Head Alehouse is joining the bumper crop of concepts coming to the Reston Town Center with an opening set for next autumn, reports the Washington Business Journal.

Dogfish Head Alehouse will be occupying a 7,500 square foot space at 11995 Inspiration Street. Viswanath Vasireddy owns and operates multiple restaurant concepts across the DMV, including Clarity-also set to join the Reston Town Center. He kindly set aside some time to speak with What Now DC about bringing the ale house to Reston. He explains that the concept already has recognition in the area, making the pairing of place to restaurant a good fit.

“There used to be a couple in Virginia that closed.” he explains. “When I was doing the Clarity expansion, the Reston Town Center reached out to me for an extension for Dogfish so I checked with the owner of the brewery. Dogfish Head has a lot of popularity in Virginia from when they were doing business there.”

Many may recognize the name Dogfish Head for its brewery. The alehouse and the brewery are indeed connected; however the brewery licenses the alehouse to independent operators. Of course that means plenty of great beer is on the horizon for Reston locals, however Vasireddy states that Dogfish Head Alehouse will offer a full night out, complete with entertainment. “I want to create that perfect experience, with beer and food together and with live music as a main focus of the business.”

Future customers can also look forward to enjoying a scenic meal; Vasireddy explains that the facility will feature 2 outdoor balconies with breathtaking views of Reston.

Reston residents can expect to stop into the eatery next fall. Vasireddy states that he is working with his architect-who he also partnered with on Clarity-to finalize designs. He anticipates an October of 2026 opening.

Vasireddy transitioned from working in IT to being one of the DMV’s busiest restaurateurs in 2023. Alongside being the only license holder for the Dogfish Head Alehouse, Vasireddy operates Vasili’s Kitchen, Aura Indian Food Paradise, Copperwood Tavern and Inchin’s Bamboo Garden, among several others. He has plans for expansion and is most certainly a culinary name to watch and one of the DMV’s rising stars.
