A DC institution is preparing to give local wine fans something to toast about. Barcelona Wine Bar is planning a major expansion for its Logan Circle location, reports local media outlet PoPville.
Barcelona Wine Bar has been pouring vino for DC locals at its 1622 14th Street, NW home since opening 12 years ago in 2013. The concept is growing into a new second story space, allowing it to expand its seating capacity. Paperwork filed with the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration states that Barcelona Wine Bar is requesting to increase the facility’s total occupancy load from 227 to 309.
Barcelona Wine Bar is already a wine enthusiast’s paradise. The restaurant offers nearly 400 varietals for guests to choose from, however even visitors who aren’t fond of wine will find something to enjoy at the establishment. The food menu offers extensive charcuterie options alongside tapas, salads, and large plates. The over 21 crowd can also choose from a selection of cocktails and a range of beers.
