The popular Utah-based dirty soda franchise Swig is eyeing Atlanta for its first location in the market. Swig is looking to launch into the market in a 1,785-square-foot space formerly home to a McDonald’s at Cambridge Square, located at 3510 Ashford Dunwoody Road in Brookhaven, as first reported by Tomorrow’s News Today Atlanta.

The location at Cambridge Square, slated to open in fall 2026, is expected to be corporate-owned, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Swig launched in 2010 and has now grown to more than 120 locations across 16 states, according to its website. Its popularity has exploded in recent years as the brand has ventured into new states, largely through a booming franchise model. In 2023, the brand announced that it was poised for growth — since then it has more than doubled its locations.

A recent series of promotions in Swig’s corporate sphere is slated to further the brand even more, according to a recent press release. The brand has promoted Todd Smith, its former chief commercial officer, to president, and Shannon Swenson is now the chief of franchise partnerships.

“We’re at a major moment for dirty soda,” Alex Dunn, CEO of Swig, said in the release. “People crave playful, personalized drinks, and Swig is here to deliver — coast to coast. Todd’s vision, Shannon’s franchising prowess, and the talent of Swig’s leaders and team members alike are the perfect combination to fuel our bold growth and make Swig everyone’s go-to stop for something delicious, unique, and totally customizable.”

Swenson has previously developed franchises such as Dave’s Hot Chicken. Swig is expected to ramp up growth across the country.

Swig’s dirty sodas include concoctions of soda, flavors, spices and other customizations. Menu items include Dr. Spice (with Dr. Pepper, cinnamon, coconut and half and half), Princess Peach (with Dr. Pepper, peach and coconut cream) and This Bliss (with diet coke, cranberry and fresh lime). Other offerings include water-based Refreshers, energy drinks called Revivers and some treat options like cookies.

The only Swig location currently in Georgia is a spot in Fort Oglethorpe.
