Habit Burger & Grill is planning a second Jacksonville location.
The burger chain, famous for its char burgers, has announced the opening of a second Jacksonville burger restaurant on its website with a bold “Coming Soon!”. The restaurant will be located at 9171 Baymeadows Road. An opening date has not yet been announced.
Habit Burger & Grill was founded in 1969, in Santa Barbara County, California, as a family-owned business under the original name, The Hamburger Habit. IN 2020, Yum Brands (which also owns Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC) purchased Habit Burger for $375 million, though the company continues to operate as an independent entity.
The burger chain has a devout following for its charburgers — 100% fresh ground beef patties that are char grilled over an open flame to order. The restaurant also offers far more than burgers and fries — customers can order ahi tuna filet and sirloin steak sandwiches, grilled cheese, veggie burgers, grilled chicken, and more. Lighter fare includes a Santa Barbara Cobb salad, a mango miso crunch salad, a harvest chopped salad, and more.
Habit Burger & Grill currently operates more than 300 locations in the U.S. and internationally, with 13 Florida restaurants. When it opens, the new Jacksonville location will be its 14th in the state.
