The DFW dining scene is so vibrant and diverse that it is difficult to conceive of a wholly new concept opening in the region. Yet that is precisely what entrepreneur Steve Feldman is bringing to McKinney with his newest project, Hoshi Ranch Japanese Barbecue & Local Market. The distinctive and multi-faceted concept will launch its soft opening next month, reports Community Impact.

Feldman has big plans for Hoshi Ranch Japanese Barbecue & Local Market’s 3222 CR 168 home. The concept, taking over the storefront that previously housed The Shack by Chef Noah Hester, will serve a combination of Japanese and American barbecue, alongside breakfast and gourmet coffee. Guests will particularly thrill to the restaurant’s interactive element; Feldman tells What Now Dallas: “I plan to have hibachi style cooktops in the tables so people can truly enjoy that fun family bbq experience in both American Texan and Japanese style.”

As the name suggests, Hoshi Ranch Japanese Barbecue & Local Market will have a retail component. Shoppers will be able to stock up on an array of goods, including Japanese, American, and South African cuts of meat and locally sourced eggs.

Feldman sees the unique establishment as an opportunity to blend two cultures he has a strong affection for. He states: “I have spent much of my adult life doing different businesses between Japan and America. When I came to Texas 5 years ago I saw an opportunity to share Japanese culture with people in Texas more, hence Hoshi Japanese cafe in Plano and now the new bbq restaurant. This location offers the best of old Texas and the rustic setting is something very appealing to me to bring people together to enjoy good food, good music and good community.”

Feldman plans to hold a soft opening for Hoshi Ranch Japanese Barbecue & Local Market in November. He is excited to bring this unique and exciting experience to McKinney diners-as he eloquently and succinctly states: “I love Texas and Japan and feel this will be a great venue to share both!!”
