An accomplished DMV restaurant group is preparing to add another name to its already impressive roster of concepts. Georgetown Events Hospitality Group, the team behind Surfside and Millie’s, has submitted paperwork to open a new restaurant called The Wheelhouse in Chevy Chase.
Georgetown Events will be setting up their newest project at 5714 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., in the storefront that previously housed Wine Organic. The hospitality group originally intended to install a new location of its concept Due South there, but pivoted to The Wheelhouse, which the Chevy Chase, DC Instagram account describes as “an American Bistro & ice cream concept”.
According to the paperwork filed with the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration, The Wheelhouse will offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant will have space for up to 147 guests inside and seating for another 38 on a sidewalk cafe.
It is unclear precisely when The Wheelhouse will be open and ready to serve hungry DC residents, however the liquor license application bodes well for the concept’s progress. The restaurant does not yet have a digital footprint and little information is available, however What Now DC has reached out to ownership and will provide updates as they become available.
