A new restaurant with Southern roots will open in Ortega. An exact opening date has not been set, but it’s expected to open winter 2025.
Oxford Place is set to take a spot inside the historic Oxford & Corinthian building at 2902 Corinthian Avenue, offering New Orleans classics and beyond.
The menu will change seasonally, but guests can expect Southern favorites like New Orleans barbecue shrimp, blackened redfish with Hoppin’ John, and a grits souffle with bacon burre blanc. The menu is rounded out by steak, chicken, and seafood dishes, along with an array of entree salads and a signature burger. Little ones have a dedicated kids’ menu, ensuring that Oxford Place will be Jacksonville’s new favorite family destination.
Oxford Place will also feature a full-service bar with a creative craft cocktail menu for those who like to indulge.
The restaurant, owned by the father and son team of Jerry Brown and Hughes Brown, is taking over the former Simply Sara’s and Fonda’s Hairstyling spaces to create a 2,900 square-foot 120-seat eatery that will feature both indoor and outdoor seating. In a press release, co-owner Jerry Brown said he wants Oxford Place to offer, “approachable, everyday hospitality where neighbors and new friends can unwind over great food”.
