Big in Japan, cat cafes have been popping up in New Orleans, and the newest one is preparing to open in the Marigny at 2330 Royal St. Called NOLA Cat Lounge, the cat café will offer cold drinks and packaged snacks in a cozy environment filled with New Orleans-inspired decor. Rescue cats will populate the café and be available for adoption. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.

As a place for guests to slow down and connect with cats, NOLA Cat Lounge promotes responsible pet ownership. Guests are asked to follow rules like keeping doors closed, avoiding sleeping cats, not picking up cats, and not feeding human food to cats.
