The Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) is bringing its pink-and-white fever dream of sweetness to Orlando.
Bungalower has reported that MOIC will move into Pointe Orlando, located at 9101 International Drive. The museum will take over two large areas totaling more than 20,000 square feet of space. The International Drive Business Improvement District has confirmed the imminent opening on its site, calling the museum, “an immersive, multi-sensory ice cream attraction”. The museum is expected to open some time in 2026.
The Museum of Ice Cream started as an interactive pop-up that opened in New York City’s Meatpacking District in 2016. Co-founders Maryellis Bunn and Manish Vora designed the space for both families and adults to celebrate ice cream.
Though not a museum in the traditional sense, MOIC does have exhibits that cover the history of ice cream and how it’s made.
The rest is a photogenic playground that invites visitors to touch, interact, and play. Exhibits include a “flight” complete with flight attendants serving ice cream, maze rooms that invite attendees to go through various doors and areas, carnival games, a giant slide, and the now-famous sprinkle pool — all while eating ice cream along the way.
Visitors can also purchase ice cream treats and even alcoholic beverages at the museum’s “diner”.
There are currently five MOIC locations in Miami, Singapore, Boston, New York City, and Chicago. Las Vegas and Los Angeles will soon get their own museums. Orlando, with its focus on family-friendly attractions and parks, is a natural choice to add to the Museum of Ice Cream family.
