Fernandina Beach’s Amelia Island Brewing Company announced it will close later this year through a social media post. The brewery will serve its final meal on November 5, and weekend breakfast will not be offered during its remaining days.

Amelia Island Brewing Announces Closure

After nearly ten years, Amelia Island Brewing Company is bidding farewell to the community. The tavern, restaurant, and brewpub near Fernandina Beach has long been a favorite among locals.

Known for its food and craft beers, Amelia Island Brewing has been a gathering spot for locals and visitors alike. It was among the first fully operational craft breweries in the region. 

Through an social media post, the restaurant announced its closure and the post read, “Amelia Island Brewing Company would like to thank our guests and team for nearly a decade of wonderful memories and shared experiences. We are proud of our charitable service in the community with our spaghetti dinners and donations to local chapters over the years, and through that have built amazing relationships.”

The post further mentioned, “As we close this chapter, we want to leave you with one heartfelt reminder: support the businesses you love. Follow them on social media. Leave the kind review. Tell your friends. Show up for them, even in small ways.”

“Those acts of support mean everything to the people behind the scenes: the servers, cooks, bartenders, managers, and owners who pour their hearts into what they do. Lastly, we will no longer be serving breakfast on the weekends for the remaining days of operation,” added the AIBC team. 

Overwhelming Responses From The Community

After the announcement, locals and fans shared heartfelt messages on Instagram, wishing the brewery well in its next chapter.

One customer wrote, “We are so, so sad to hear this! Wishing you all the best in your next steps. We have enjoyed sending our customers over to AIBC.”

Another customer thanked the restaurant for years of service and cherished memories and said, “So sad to hear! We LOVED visiting you multiple times on each of our annual trips to Amelia Island. Thanks for all the years of memories!”

As the brewery prepares to close, locals and visitors will remember its role as a community gathering spot. The closure of Amelia Island Brewing Company ends nearly a decade of craft beer and dining in Fernandina Beach.
