A new restaurant is preparing to reinvigorate the Memphis burger scene. Chamo’s Bistro & Bar will be interpreting the beloved sandwich through the lens of authentic Venezuelan cuisine when it opens its first storefront in Cordova later this year.

Chamo’s is setting up shop in the quaint and charming building located at 8556 Macon Road that previously housed Stogies Cigar Bar & Lounge. According to the certificate of occupancy issued by the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development, the facility has an occupant load of 99, suggesting plenty of customers will be able to enjoy Chamo’s fare.

Chamo’s does not have a precise opening date available yet, however owner Carlos Garcia generously confirmed with What Now Memphis that he is anticipating a December grand opening.

Future customers can follow Chamo’s Instagram account for updates alongside mouth-watering pictures of the concept’s delicious cuisine. Cordova foodies can look forward to a dining experience anchored by passion, enthusiasm, and a wealth of knowledge. Carlos states: “We absolutely love our new building and feel it’s the perfect spot to welcome our community and share a true Venezuelan experience.”
