Tacos Los Cholos, an award-winning SoCal taqueria, is expanding its local footprint with a new Santa Ana location. While there has not been an official address announced yet, community pages have confirmed it will be in the city’s downtown district.

A timeline isn’t known for when the eatery will open. Recent posts by the company show kitchen equipment is being installed. Conditional Use Permit records show the business applied for approval to sell beer and wine on-site last week.

Founded in Anaheim in March 2019 by Josue Maldonado and Michael Alvarado, Tacos Los Cholos began humbly in a front yard with “no money but pockets full of dreams”. It has since grown into a regional favorite with locations in Anaheim, Fullerton, Huntington Park, and Huntington Beach. Another location is also in development in Eastvale.

The business has earned widespread acclaim, coined “one of the highest-rated taquerias in LA” by Infatuation LA. Its extensive menu features regular, premium, and prime meats such as asada, chorizo, cecina, arrachera, ribeye, filet mignon, pollo, costilla panela, and pork belly.
