Celeste, a new Italian-Mediterranean restaurant from the team behind Ristorante Beatrice, is preparing to open in downtown Montreal at 2121 Drummond Street.
The restaurant will be located within the historic Maison Alcan building, adding a fine dining concept to one of the city’s most architecturally notable addresses, according to the restaurant’s announcement on Instagram. The new concept is expected to debut in Fall 2025. While an exact opening date has not yet been confirmed, details are expected to be released in the coming weeks. Celeste describes itself as “where earth meets sky,” reflecting an elevated approach to Italian and Mediterranean cuisine designed for a modern urban setting.
The restaurant marks the next chapter for the team behind Ristorante Beatrice, one of Montreal’s most established Italian destinations. Located in the Golden Square Mile, Beatrice recently closed for a major renovation and is scheduled to reopen in Spring 2026 with a redesigned interior and glass atrium terrace. The new restaurant, Celeste, will extend that vision downtown, focusing on refined dining rooted in the same culinary philosophy.
Founded on principles of seasonality and simplicity, Beatrice has long emphasized fresh ingredients and a warm, elegant ambiance. Its temporary closure provided the team an opportunity to expand its creative reach with Celeste, offering Montrealers a fresh interpretation of Italian dining while maintaining the essence of Beatrice’s “gioia di vivere.”
Set within Maison Alcan, Celeste’s location places it in the heart of Montreal’s business district, surrounded by heritage architecture and cultural landmarks. The building’s historic character is expected to complement the restaurant’s modern design and culinary sophistication.
