Waldorf chicken enthusiasts, get ready to welcome poultry worth crossing the road for. Sardi’s Peruvian Chicken, celebrated for its authentic take on the titular dish, is opening a location in the Fairway Village shopping center next year.

The restaurant will be joining the mixed-use development located at the intersection of St. Charles Parkway and Billingsley Road. According to a social media post from Rosso Commercial Real Estate, who brokered the deal, Sardi’s will be occupying a 3,650 square foot end cap storefront, complete with a patio space.

Owner Philip E. Sardelis was kind enough to speak to What Now DC about bringing the concept to Waldorf. He explains that he and his team were contacted about opening the restaurant in the thriving development, saying: “We went down and saw-they built a lot of homes down there and the developer had 1 parcel of 100-and-some acres where he’s putting a development. There’s going to be a kinder care, apartment units, another 10-12,000 feet of retail and they’re giving us the endcap down there.”

Waldorf diners won’t be able to enjoy the chain’s distinctive fare until next year; an opening date is not available yet, however the Sardi’s website has the Fairway Village location listed as opening in 2026. Sardelis states that the restaurant will be the fourth of five new storefronts to open chronologically.

Sardi’s opened a location in New Carrollton just this October, further cementing the brand’s presence in Maryland.

Cousins Phil E. Sardelis and Phil G. Sardelis founded Sardi’s in 2008 as a way of bringing Latin and South American cuisine to the area. The duo strived to ensure that not only were the recipes authentic but also that they were served in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere. The chain has enjoyed great success and has spread to include 16 locations across Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, with four more in development.

Waldorf foodies are certain to embrace Sardi’s, thanks to its dedication to using high-quality ingredients in its delicious dishes. The website states: “Sardi’s food is crafted from only the freshest, local ingredients. Every dish, sauce, side, and salad is prepared with locally sourced ingredients to bring fresh flavor to every bite.”
