Downtown Palm Springs is preparing for a new culinary addition with the upcoming debut of SoCal Sunset, a California cuisine concept from a local restaurateur family. It will open soon at 369 N Palm Canyon, according to community posts.

The new venue will occupy the lower floor of a two-story Spanish Colonial-style building that was formerly home to Georgie’s Alibi Azul, a well-known Palm Springs gay bar and restaurant. The upper floor is slated to house After Hours, an elevated bar concept that What Now OC announced last week.

Workers have been on-site in recent months, prepping the space for the new sister venues. The family that runs El Patio in Palm Springs and La Quinta, as well as Felipe’s, is the operator behind it. Residents have been chiming in with excitement due to their reputation in the local F&B scene.

The owners did not return requests for comment before publication.
