Many bars in New Orleans act as neighborhood anchors by serving up some of the best food in the city, and the upcoming 1600 Café in the Seventh Ward will follow in that fine tradition. Located at 1600 Saint Bernard Ave., the restaurant will bring life back to a vacant corner building with classic po-boys, chicken wings, soul food mains, and beignets for dessert. The bar will feature beer, wine, and classic mixed drinks, including a Blue Hawaiian, Hurricane, and Mint Julep.
According to a permit filing with the City of New Orleans, the 1600 Café will have bar seating and a dining area with about 1,500 square feet. It will also have video gaming machines and a side room with can be partitioned off for private parties. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.
