Colonie, a Brooklyn restaurant, announced on social media that it will soon close its doors. The team said it will serve its final dinner at the end of the month and invited regulars to stop by for one last meal.

Colonie Announces Sudden Closure

After nearly 15 years in business, Colonie will close its doors on November 30. The Brooklyn Heights spot became a New York staple, known for its New American menu and locally sourced ingredients.

“In an Instagram post, the team wrote, “After 15 amazing years in this space, we will close our doors on November 30th. We are so sad to leave after such an epic run, but our hearts are full of gratitude as we reflect on this incredible journey. Special thanks to our amazing team for making this space so special and to our community, who have shown up year after year.

Colonie also invited the community to stop by during its final month of service. “We hope you can visit us for a few last hurrahs as we close this chapter,” shared the Colonie Team.

Inspired by the charm of Brooklyn Heights, Colonie opened in 2011 on a tree-lined stretch of Atlantic Avenue near the East River. From the start, the restaurant made it a priority to support local farms and the New York food community.

Fans Share Emotional Reactions

The heartfelt post announcing Colonie’s closure on social media was flooded with comments from loyal customers. Fans shared cherished memories, personal stories, and messages expressing how much the restaurant will be missed.

One loyal customer shared a tearful message and said, “Colonie is my everything—I was there on opening night in the thundersnow (the foie gras doughnuts!!), the place I took everyone important in my life when they came to visit—from afar or just from another neighborhood. Colonie is where my husband met my dad for the first time and where we had our mid-pandemic “rehearsal dinner” outdoors. The place I always know what dessert will be (there is no other option except for sticky date cake—2 of them, please). This will leave a huge hole in my heart and in the neighborhood. You will be dearly missed.”

“Countless happy memories with family and friends. The tastiest meals ever—who knew celery salad was actually delicious? And that cool hand cuke always hit the spot. The coveted tables by the window. Pandemic meals and bottles of wine to go. Love you guys. Thanks for the beautiful memories. Bravo!” wrote another fan.

Colonie will spend its final days celebrating with the community before closing for good. The restaurant hasn’t disclosed an official reason for the closure.
