It looks like a Hong Kong-style café is headed to downtown Boston.

Boston Restaurant Talk reports that Gateway Canteen is planning to open in a basement-level space at 21B Hudson St in Chinatown, next to Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House. Owner Po Sang Tse confirmed the news in a brief phone call with What Now Boston, though he declined to share further details at this time.

According to a licensing board hearing page on the city’s website, however, the 800-square-foot eatery will function as a “Hong Kong-style café serving hot and cold Chinese teas, coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches, and snacks.”

Business filings suggest that Sang Tse operates several ventures in the area, including the neighboring Chinatown Pain Relief Massage.

An opening timeline hasn’t been announced, and the café doesn’t appear to have an online presence just yet. Keep an eye out for updates as Gateway Canteen gets ready to join the neighborhood.
