Crepeccino has quickly racked up praises in San Antonio since it opened and is now hoping to expand that reach with a new opening in Houston at 11199 Westheimer Rd. A recent lease comps report acquired by What Now Houston showed that the new crepes-all-day eatery will live in the Westchase Shopping Center. The owner, Bara Ekhlayel, confirmed with What Now Houston that he expects to open by Spring 2026.
Hailing from Houston, Ekhlayel shared that his home city was always the plan.
“The ultimate goal was to go back to Houston,” Ekhlayel said.
“Life has its own tricks, and I found myself taking the location, and I wasn’t even in the restaurant business at the time.”
That was back in 2017, before he opened his first Crepeccino in San Antonio. A friend of his rented a spot in the middle of the shopping center in Houston and mentioned an opening. The vacant open space would be a storefront on the corner facing the street, the perfect opportunity for Ekhalayel and his concept, Crepeccino.
“Meant to be, and guess what, it’s already been built for me in a way. I just need to do some remodeling and we’re good to go,” the owner said.
With construction plans underway, Ekhlayel is putting his focus on what is most important to him and his establishment: service and the food.
Offering breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, Crepeccino specializes, as the name would suggest, in a variety of crepes. For breakfast, customers can go sweet and savory like the Sweet Turkey Crepe, which is actually an Ekhlayel favorite, or savory and healthy like the Herb Ricotta & Feta Cheese Crepe. For lunch and/or dinner, how about the Chicken Pesto Crepe or the Chicken Alfredo Crepe?
“It’s to die for. The smell of it, the parmesan, and it’s really really refreshing,” Ekhlayel said of the latter.
Of course, guests can enjoy other items besides crepes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, like the Fish & Chips, a host of omelets, and sweets.
Most importantly, Crepeccino is branded as quality food at an affordable price.
“People now, with social media, are well educated. They want something less greasy and more fresh, cook of the day, and all of the time, and that’s what we provide,” the Crepeccino owner said.
Crepeccino offers imported materials that are of above substantial quality, according to Ekhlayel, who shared that he gets customized fresh cheese daily.
“We know, especially when it comes to breakfast, we’re missing the authenticity in the quality of the food.”
It’s what’s helped Crepecinno continue to be successful in San Antonio, where, according to Ekhlayel, the eatery has been awarded the “Best Breakfast in San Antonio” three years in a row. But perhaps it isn’t only about the delicious crepes and decadent desserts that the crepe shop is serving up and dishing out.
“We not only care about the quality, but also we’re trying to bring back the old American customer service quality,” Ekhlayel said.
“When you come to dine with us, it feels like you’re dining in a fine dining restaurant with a reasonable price or a casual restaurant price.”
Experience the magic of Crepeccino for yourself when it opens for the first time in Houston at the Westchase Shopping Center at 11199 Westheimer Rd. in Spring 2026.
