Qargo Coffee is continuing its Texas expansion with a plan to open 13 locations in Houston. According to the Houston Business Journal, the Miami/Colombia-based coffee brand has signed a franchise agreement for 13 cafes with two franchisee groups. Of those locations, three have signed leases, and the first to open will be at the Shops at Deerbrook retail center at 8910 FM 1960 Bypass Road W.
The new Houston Qargo Coffee shop is expected to open in Spring 2026. Qargo coffee began its foray into the Texas market this year, opening franchise locations in Edinburg, Dallas-Fort Worth, and San Antonio.
Founded in 2020 by Sam Shenouda and Bernadette Bastorous, the first Qargo Coffee shop opened in a mall in Tampa Bay in 2022.
“In just five years, we’ve grown from a single store to a robust network with 90 locations in development across 16 states, each strategically selected to maximize brand impact and customer reach,” the Qargo Coffee website reads.
“As of 2023, we’ve set our sights on nurturing the momentum of our rapid expansion.”
What Now Houston reached out to both Shenouda and Bastorous for comment on the company’s growth, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
Marketed as “Italy’s finest coffee and pastries,” the coffee brand selected Lavazza as its coffee producer. Offering a wide variety of coffee specialty drinks, energy smoothies, boba tea, and teas, Qargo Coffee pairs its drinks with a host of pastries to give its customers a taste of Italy, no matter what coffee shops they’re ordering from throughout the country.
Qargo Coffee also offers all-day breakfast and lunch with a multitude of sandwiches to choose from.
While the final say on what other Qargo Coffee locations are to come to Houston remains on mute, coffee lovers whose interest is piqued can ring the alarm about the new coffee brand’s major Houston expansion and stop by the first one to open. Remember, the first Qargo Coffee to come to Houston will open at the Shops at Deerbrook retail center at 8910 FM 1960 Bypass Road W in Spring 2026.
