Storefronts in the Lower Canal Street area are regularly changing, and a former restaurant at 438 Canal St. is set to become a new restaurant under the famous Willie’s brand. Signage at the address indicates it will be the future home of Willie’s Pizza & Wing. According to permit filings with the City of New Orleans, the restaurant will have a dining room and bar area with a capacity of 73 people, and a small kitchen area for two workers. The planned restaurant appears to be under the same umbrella as other “Willie’s” branded restaurants, which include Willie’s Chicken Shack and Willie’s Boil House. One location of the former is just a few doors down from the planned Willie’s restaurant, at 428 Canal St.
