Popeyes Opening Another Dayton Area Location Later This Spring

The eatery is being brought to the area by a franchise group that owns and operates numerous Popeyes locations throughout Dayton and Columbus.

According to a recent article, a new Popeyes is slated to open in Xenia soon. The fast food chain will be located at 2028 W Main St and is being brought to the area by franchise group The Gilligan Company, who owns and operates numerous Popeyes locations throughout Dayton and Columbus. The franchise group also operates Dunkin’ and Subway locations as well as convenience stores throughout the Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton markets.

Julea Schuh Remke, a spokeswoman for Gilligan Company tells What Now Columbus that the forthcoming restaurant will have a grand opening celebration on Thursday, May 2 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The charitable partner for the Xenia Popeyes will be the Anthony Munoz Foundation and Remke confirmed via an email with What Now Columbus that Mr. Munoz will be present during the grand opening. 

According to Travis Sensabaugh, Popeyes Brand President for The Gilligan Company, “The Xenia Popeyes building will be a “kitchen of the future” layout which allows for quicker more accurate service. This site will also be a double drive thru allowing for a more convenient guest experience. Our building will be just over 3,000 square feet with approximately 32 seats. The dining room will feature a community table with outlets as we offer free wifi to our guests.”

Besides serving fried chicken pieces such as breasts, legs and thighs, the chain also sells breaded chicken tenders, nuggets, wings and sandwiches. Offering up Louisiana style sides such as mashed potatoes topped with a spicy, cajun style gravy. Additional sides include red beans and rice, fries, slaw, biscuits and mac and cheese.
