Miami-based Motek is expanding in New York City. After making the jump to the New York market earlier this fall with an opening in the Flatiron District, the brand appears to have a location on the way to 2178 Broadway on the Upper West Side, according to community board filings.
Husband-and-wife team Charlie and Tessa Levy started the brand in downtown Miami in 2020. The Flatiron location was the first outside of Florida for the Mediterranean restaurant. There are seven locations open in Florida.
Motek locations offer modern Mediterranean designs and an Eastern Mediterranean-inspired menu. Dishes include steak, kebabs, skewers, falafel, hummus and pita, and appetizers like babaganoush and spicy Greek feta.
A previous release indicated that Motek has plans for at least five locations in New York City. The Upper West Side location is expected to open in 2026.
The team is also bringing sister brand Yalla Motek to the city in winter 2026, according to a previous release.
