A Nashville poultry favorite is hoping to make the Memphis chicken scene a little hotter. Hattie B’s Hot Chicken has aspirations to bring its signature fare to a new Germantown storefront, reports Daily Memphian.
The popular chain is proposing to open its second Memphis-area location in the Germantown Village Square shopping center. If all goes according to plan, Hattie B’s will occupy a 2,975 square foot storefront in the Poplar Avenue retail mecca.
While an opening timeline isn’t presently available, the Germantown Planning Commission will be reviewing the brand’s proposal on December 2, suggesting further information is just over the horizon. What Now Memphis has reached out to Hattie B’s for additional details and while specifics remain sparse, a representative did state that the chain is enthusiastic about expanding its reach into the region, saying: “Hattie B’s is excited about growing their presence in Memphis.”
Hattie B’s first began serving up its signature hot chicken in Nashville in 2012. The company has seen its reach expand, with 18 locations now open and in operation-one of which is in Memphis.
Memphis diners have reason to be excited for a new Hattie B’s restaurant. The family-owned chain offers this insight as to what’s in store: “Plump, juicy birds flavored down to the bone no matter your heat level. Southern sides scratch-made daily. Ice-cold beer from your favorite local breweries. Top it all off with creamy banana pudding or peach cobbler for dessert.”
