During recent routine inspections, the Sacramento health department inspected several restaurants. Some of the restaurants were flagged for violations and were issued yellow placards.

Restaurants That Received Green Placards After Follow-Ups

Inspections carried out from December 1 – 5 resulted in multiple health code violations across five restaurants. Upon reinspection, four out of five eateries received a green placard, while one was due for another inspection. The results were as follows:

In an inspection on December 1, the report listed several areas with accumulated grease, debris, and food residue, improper food storage, not working bulbs; a missing faucet; and peeling paint walls as violations. In the reinspection of the establishment, all the major violations were corrected.

T&Z Chinese Restaurant was unable to demonstrate basic food-safety practices; food handler records were incomplete; food was at unsafe temperatures; and an expired health permit was found during a routine inspection on December 4.

A reinspection was conducted on December 5 to follow up on the major violations. The health department found repeated violations in two categories. Staff handled raw shrimp without gloves and without washing their hands between tasks and food items were kept at the wrong temperature.
