A new daiquiri bar called Southern Social is heading to 124 Rome Street in Carrollton. The spot will likely open in March.

Couple Ashley and Edward Daniel are behind the forthcoming bar. Ashley told What Now Atlanta that they hope to bring something different to the area.

“As we’ve gotten older, we would like a place to go out that’s more upscale,” Ashley said. “We were always going into Atlanta, and we wanted to bring some of that to where we are locally.”

The 3,000-square-foot space will feature older aesthetics already in the building, such as brick walls and cabinetry. There will be eight to 10 daiquiri machines featuring rotating flavors.

They hope to offer live music such as DJs on the weekends and serve as a hub for local social events.

Menu items will include elevated shareable appetizers such as salads, dips, charcuterie boards and pizzas. Eventually, they might expand the menu to feature additional food options.
