Haraz Coffee is continuing to pour into the Greater Houston community with a second location. The latest Haraz Coffee addition is set to open at Elyson Town Center. According to a recent state filing, the coffeehouse will open at 7028 Elyson Exchange Way, Suite K-100, in Cypress.

“Cypress is one of the fastest growing areas in Houston, but there’s a lack of coffee in the area,” Haraz Coffee Franchisee Ibrahim Massoud told What Now Houston in a recent interview about the upcoming opening.

“We chose ETC because we believe not only is the area going to be the next town center or city center type of environment for that location, but it’s also the perfect fit for us.”

Massoud joins college friends, Sammy Khayat and Walid Barghouti, in the endeavor. The franchisee group has exclusivity for Haraz Coffeehouse in the Greater Houston market. Massoud shared that he plans to open a few each year over the course of the next five years.

“The whole point is the higher brand coffee with the same prices roughly as the fast-food type brands like Starbucks, Dutch bros, and Dunkin,” Massoud said.

The luxury coffee brand sources its coffee beans from what is considered the coffee capital of the world, Yemen.

Haraz Coffee House has grown rapidly from its Dearborn, MI start in 2021, according to its website.  Reports in late 2025 indicate around 20-26 operating locations across several states (MI, TX, FL, CA, NC, IL) and plans for significant expansion, aiming for over 150 Haraz Coffee House locations soon, with hundreds more in development, bringing Yemeni coffee culture to the U.S. Founded by Hazah Nasser, the brand specializes in authentic Yemeni coffee, chai, pistachio lattes, and traditional pastries.

“Bringing a whole different type of coffee to the area, more flavorful and authentic coffee,” Massoud said.

“If you’re a latte type of person, the Haraz Latte or Pistachio Latte are very nice and very good. Haraz spices are a special type of blend of spices.”

But it’s not only about the authentic taste and culture Haraz Coffee is bringing to the Greater Houston area community, Massoud also shared that the brand and his band of franchisees are thoughtful about the customer experience and the approach to building a welcoming environment at each of their establishments.

“We’re not a coffee shop, we’re a coffee house. So we’re an extension of the home. So you can come here to celebrate friends, family, study, and job interviews. Any steps of your life we want to be a part of,” Massoud said.

“We’re trying to bring back what people severely need during COVID, the human interaction, and a place where we can have friends and family and everybody there.”

The University of Houston graduates understand and have love for the community they’ve grown up in, gone to college in, and started amazing careers in. As the region continues to grow, the Haraz Coffee locations that Massoud and his partners are growing with it are adapting to all of the changes that come with a growing community.

“We’re a driving city, so now you can get the same high-end quality coffee through drive-thru,” Massoud shared about the additional infrastructure the new Haraz Coffee will have.

Haraz Coffee will open in Elyson Town Center at 7028 Elyson Exchange Way, Suite K-100, in Cypress by the end of Winter 2026.
