Truly Pizza, the Dana Point-based business known for its artisan-crafted pies and sandwiches, is preparing to launch its first spinoff gelato shop, Truly Gelateria. According to 926OC, the brand has filed permits and is in the tenant improvement stage at 24422 Del Prado, in the same center as its sister restaurant.

Food and Loathing reports the new business will premiere sometime next year, in the city’s Lantern District. The team will also open two more Truly Pizza locations: Laguna Beach in a few months and Venice over the summer.

Hospitality professional Donna Baldwin and World Pizza Champions John Arena, Chris Decker, and Michael Vakneen are the partners behind the ventures. They have not shared much about the emerging gelato chain.

“We currently do not have any information that we can provide you with apart from what was filed. As soon as we have more information, we will reach back out,” a publicist for the company told What Now OC.
