A Memphis wings restaurant is getting a new name and a new beginning. Soul Wings is keeping business as usual in its East Holmes Road home, but under a new banner, according to paperwork.
The restaurant has been issued a certificate of occupancy by the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development as of December 9 for a 4305 East Holmes Road storefront. The submitted form shows that the 1,000 square foot restaurant will be undergoing the bare minimum of changes, described by ownership as: “We are opening a restaurant in this address listed. We’ll keep everything as it is with no change, but only the sign and business name. The restaurant will sell exactly the same thing as it used to carry, that fried chicken wings and fries with drink; beverage but no alcohol.”
It’s unclear precisely when the restaurant will become Soul Wings-What Now Memphis has reached out to ownership and will update readers as information becomes available.
