140 Years of Legacy in Santa Clarita

Founded between 1887 and 1888, The Original Saugus Cafe is one of LA’s oldest cafes. It began its journey as “Saugus Eating House” at the Saugus train depot and soon became a famous spot for Hollywood celebrities.

James Herbert Tolfree started the cafe with an aim to serve travellers, and over time, the cafe became a pit stop for both locals and visitors. Several historical icons like President Benjamin Harrison, Theodore Roosevelt, former Mayor Fred Eaton, and others have enjoyed a moral or two in the cafe.
