A modern Mediterranean restaurant will soon open in Dedham.
MEZŌ Mediterranean, a new “fast-fine” concept celebrating modern Greek cuisine, will open its doors at 551 High St in the heart of historic Dedham Square on Monday, March 2, 2026, according to a press release. The restaurant promises a dining experience that blends tradition with contemporary flair.
“Inspired by the Greek word Μεσόγειος (Mesógeios), meaning ‘Mediterranean,’ MEZŌ places Greek cuisine at its core, with thoughtful influences from across the Mediterranean region,” reads the release. The menu combines “home-cooked, generational family recipes with beloved street-food classics and flame-grilled specialties,” using imported Greek extra-virgin olive oil and seasonings.
Signature offerings will include traditional plates like moussaka (eggplant lasagna), paidakia (grilled lamb chops), chicken gyro, pork souvlaki, biftekia (meat patties), and gemista (stuffed peppers), along with an extensive selection of meze, salads, wraps, pitas, house-made soups, and hot sides like fasolakia (string bean sauté) and roasted lemon potatoes.
For those on the go, MEZŌ will offer a grab-and-go section featuring protein-packed bowls, vibrant salads, assorted dips, and yogurt parfaits, as well as classic Greek sweets such as baklava and loukoumades. The beverage menu includes traditional Greek coffees, curated wines, beers, and Mediterranean-inspired cocktails.
Inside, the intimate 25-seat space combines contemporary design with Hellenic touches such as olive trees, terracotta statues, and handcrafted Greek pottery.
MEZŌ is owned and operated by local restaurateur George Panagopoulos, the brain behind the beloved 50-year-old Dedham House of Pizza, situated just steps away. Panagopoulos’s new venture channels his Greek heritage and passion for cooking into a modern dining concept poised to elevate Dedham’s culinary scene.
