Vince Young Steakhouse is preparing to say goodbye to the Austin community after 15 years of service. The restaurant will close its doors after serving the final meal on Saturday, January 24. Rising costs in the town and the changing dining landscape have driven the decision to close.

Neighborhood Favorite to Shut Down

Located at San Jacinto Blvd. in Austin, the local favorite Vince Young Steakhouse has decided to close its doors permanently. For the last decade and more, the steakhouse has been a community staple for upscale steak dinners. The Texan couple, Phil Brown and Laura Brown, owners and operators of the steakhouse, have recently shared the devastating news of closure on the restaurant website. In the official announcement, they said, “After 15 unforgettable years serving the Austin community, Vince Young Steakhouse will close its doors on January 24, 2026.”

The place is known for high-quality cuts and warm Texan hospitality. Some of the popular items on the menu include classic steak frites, rib-eye steak, filet mignon, and New York strip.

“Founded on the belief that great food, genuine hospitality, and community could coexist under one roof, Vince Young Steakhouse grew into a gathering place for locals, visitors, athletes, business leaders, and families alike,” shared the owners. “What began as a passion project became a cornerstone of Austin’s culinary scene, built not by scale or shortcuts, but by consistency, relationships, and care.”

Phil and Laura also extended a warm invitation to the community, inviting them to join a final celebration before the restaurant closes.

Rising costs, financial pressure, and ongoing changes in the dining industry led to the closure of Vince Young Steakhouse. The Browns further highlighted the growing challenges faced by independent and single-location establishments.

In the closure announcement, the owners of the restaurant stated, “This decision was not made lightly. We are incredibly proud of what this restaurant has meant to Austin and deeply grateful to every guest and every employee who made the past 15 years possible.”
“At a certain point, it becomes clear when it’s time to honor what you’ve built and close a chapter with intention,” the owners.

Even though the restaurant is closing, the owners remain grateful for the community members and loyal customers for their support and love. “I’m grateful for what this place became and the memories made here over the years. This isn’t goodbye to Austin; it’s a thank you,” said the Browns.

Vince Young Steakhouse will serve its fans with great food and warm hospitality until January 24. The closure of the staple steakhouse marks a loss for the Austin dining community.
