Bacio di Latte, an Italian gelato brand known for made-in-house gelato, is getting ready to open a new location in San Diego at 1640 Camino del Rio N, Suite FSU18.

The company has recently submitted documents to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality to open the new location inside Mission Valley Mall. While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, the filing signals active plans to enter the Mission Valley market. Customers can expect Bacio di Latte’s core gelato offerings to be produced fresh on-site.

Bacio di Latte was founded in 2011 by brothers Edoardo and Luigi, who set out from Milan to study traditional gelato-making techniques across Italy. The brand was built around showcasing authentic recipes and producing gelato in front of customers. Since launching, Bacio di Latte has expanded steadily across California, including locations in La Jolla and Del Mar.

The menu focuses on classic Italian gelato and fruit-based sorbets, emphasizing freshness and the sourcing of ingredients. Gelato is made daily at each shop using organic milk and cream from Sonoma County farms. Other ingredients include chocolate from Belgium and Italy, pistachios from Italy, and hazelnuts from Piedmont. Fruit sorbets rely on locally sourced fruit to highlight natural flavors.

Bacio di Latte also rotates new flavors every few weeks, keeping its menu dynamic while maintaining best-selling staples. The company operates multiple locations throughout Southern California, including Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Pasadena, Irvine, and Costa Mesa.

This will be an excellent landing space for Bacio di Latte as Mission Valley Mall transforms into The Valley, a more walkable, mixed-use destination with new residential units, updated retail, and expanded dining options. If approved, the Mission Valley location would further strengthen the brand’s San Diego presence.
